Glass was thrown, yes. But not by my brother or Leeroy....glasses are thrown EVERY week...someone always stands outside and smashes one...which is wrong...and it is justifiable to bar someone because of this, but as I said my bro and Leeroy had fuck all to do with it...and the treatment by Dean(really ugly guy with glasses)of the custome that I brought in was something that had been perturbing me for weeks....the glass business was really an unrelated matter...A guy who cannot handle a meagre amount of power properly should not be given any at all....

Yeah its easier to ignore....but then Im caught in the politics side of things...
~sigh~Leeroy and Andy never threw the glass....they werent there at all they simply was arguing(not boisterously....I was there and it seemed to be jovial)It was Deans attitude towards them and other customers that had been bothering me for a while...and his refusal to serve them was a slap in the face to me...considering they would rather be in Matrix on a saturday than at muso....but they came to support me..I could go on and on but I really cant be bothered...Dean was a cunt to MY(I stress that) customers and barred(refusing to serve someone is just the same) my brother and my friend....a couple of the few of my friends that still came cos everyone got pissed off with all the frigging kids in there..
I tell you what...type normally and I will go into detail and clarify more points.....There seems little point when you seem to be deliberatly on here as a wind up.

Actually, no, I'm not deliberately on here as a wind up, and I find it strange that you would actually consider me to be so. I've only been seeking transparency about the issue so that I can understand for myself what it's all about.
All I've asked for is for matters to be clarified, as from your postings it wasn't immediately clear on the why's and wherefore's of your decisions.
Having left information that seemed to be very relevant out of your initial posting, I just wondered if it would be possible for you to be succinct and sincere about it at all.
As I've said, if the information was originally included, then their would have been probably a better thread than people generally saying 'the place is shit and the regulars and staff are wankers' (that's not a quote of any post by the way).
And that discussion would have been a lot more relevant to the local "Rock night out" scene than small differences of opinon on people's attitude.
When it boils down to it, the initial question of "What went wrong" is still the most important thing, and one would have to ask oneself whether or not it was a staff attitude issue, a customer behaviour issue, or a mixture of the two.
If it is a mixture of the two, then it is a social issue, and something that is going to repeat itself wherever the venue is.
Now I don't want to sound childish or pedantic, but: "you started it" (by beginning this thread), but it doesn't seem to be anything more than a bit of a gripe about a situation gone sour, at the moment. As you yourself say that you are involved in matters politic, is there any chance of you re-iterating what the irritating issues were?
You do state that you were offended by the way that "my customers" (to quote you verbatim) were treated, but surely if you do think of them as YOUR customers, and therefore, by implication, as yourself as the host, do you not think that this relationship works both ways, to some degree? I think it probably does, but in this respect you are in the unenviable situation that you have to sit in the middle, and split your loyalties between your customers and the establishment that you work(ed) for on a Saturday night.
I don't see any issues that couldn't have been fixed by improved communication (and communication is the thing that I'm trying to promote, by posting here), and if there are issues between the "them and us" from either side, then a little bit of respect and more understanding would help to grease the wheels.
If the question of "What went wrong" is still valid, then maybe this should continue to be discussed, so that everyone can benefit from the experience - after all, people's behaviour is a vicarious responsibility in a social group.
If the question is really "In hindsight, why I'm pissed off about what happened" then that's a different discussion entirely.

I do not feel that my crowds behaviour is wrong at all...sometimes people need a bollocking and thats about it.On the whole they are the best behaved crowd that any pub could wish to have...its the stigmata attached that some people deliberately wont overlook. As I have previously mentioned the staffs attitudes towards my customers(stressed because I was the one that brought them to their pub)was an issue that had been bothering me for some time...and when this was addressed..I was ignored.
There were many promises made when I started there...more rock cds in the jukebox...they would turn Kerrang! Tv on the screen when we came in etc...I was assured that my crowd was more than welcome in there...I honestly beleive that Mark(the landlord) was genuine in this.Yet when it came down to it no cds were put on the jukebox after he found that I couldnt put copied cds in there, although the supplier could have been contacted and at least 4 or 5 cds could hav ebeen put in to make my crowd happy. The Kerrang tv thing...I had been in there with friends on numerous occasions and asked for the channel to be changed from Magic or whatever bland pop crap was usually on...and it never was and Dean(the barman in question) was often quite rude about it..That was just the begining.
If you ask a lot of people that used to frequent the place, they will all tell you that Dean has been either rude or sleazy towards them...and I cannot ignore that.
Communication wouldnt have solved the problem....after all it was made pretty clear that we were guests in that pub rather than potential regulars, but a case in point is the cd player debacle....
Ever since I started, the cd player was dodgy..it needed a new lense on one side as it was shot to shit...for want of a better term..I complained to Mark about this each week..and apologised to the crowd for the substandard equipment..the barmaid and dean were both shouting that it was my cds...I was embarrassed enough that this was happening...then for the staff there to blame my cds....especially since some of the cds were brand new..only received that morning(incidentally...they worked everywhere else..it was my professional opinion that the cd player needed cleaning..it was ignored)and when pointing this out...nothing was done about it..this continued for 6 MONTHS!Now Mark said it was so and so from Elite or whatever not getting round to fixing it...but not for 6 months it wasnt...it took them too long to address the problem and as a result killed of my enthusiasm for being there on a saturday.
I have mentioned that I would be leaving in a few weeks anyway for Matrix...more money and a more proffessional outlook...but I was going to speak to mark and give him some notice so he could advertise what he would be replacing me with...and also have a last ever night...which would have been very, very busy and made a lot of money. The build up of problems with the place was at breaking point anyway...but Dean managed to go one step further.....I didnt mention that before he informed my brother he was barred...I tried ordering some food (a thing I will miss about the place)and they werent serving that day..cos Mark had his daughter and couldnt work the kitchen....but the way he spoke to me and took pleasure in my dissapointment...It was disgusting and pissed me off a great deal...then 2 minutes later I find out my bro and friend were barred (seems strange that since the night they have not been refered to as barred...just refused to serve them)this was due to personal conflict between them and Dean...nothing more..but anyway..it became clear that I couldnt carry on there anymore...
I make the point again...My brother...who throughout the past 2 years has been a pillar of support, who refused to let me fester in the house when my marraige fell apart, someone I have been able to depend on whenever I have needed to...even that night lending me money to see me through cos of what I missed. And a friend who had also been there whenever I have needed him too...how could I have looked myself in the mirror and stayed to collect a few extra quid and turn my back on them? That would make me more of a sell out than No Doubt.

Absolutely beautiful, man. You said what you meant.
A hell of a lot more clear than the initial posting, and the fact that you communicated it lucidly was fucking spot on (you notice how I can swear?).
Just why the hell didn't you voice this in the first place, then you wouldn't have been misinterpreted in any way, shape, or form - you know what people are like and how they like to take sides.
Not that it probably matters to you at all, but you certainly have my respect.
I don't really think that there's much more that you could add to that.
I'll buy you a pint when I see you.
